If you have been into Asda St Helens recently, you may have noticed that we are part of the green token scheme!

At the end of your shop, grab a few green tokens from the tills and place them in our box (at the entrance).

It was lovely to see so many faces this weekend! The community of Rainhill have done themselves proud 👏

A weekend of celebration, including the Rainhill 190 Trials parade and the Rainhill Gala, which we attended. In spite of the weather, both days, were a brilliant success!

🚂 The steam engine that won the Rainhill Trials of 1829, Stephenson's Rocket, is returning this bank holiday weekend!

This Sunday 26 May, our society will be taking part in the parade, in marching group 1, alongside locomotives, classic cars and a marching band!

We are meeting at the Ship Inn for 12pm, and will walk as part of the parade, to Rainhill Village.

Come join us and show your support! 🚂


19 May

🌿🍓🥔🥕 Our sow, grow and eat project, with Carol, will be restarting this Thursday (23rd May, 10am onwards) at a different location.

We are continuing the project at Derbyshire Hill Family Centre, on Derbyshire Hill Road. It is on the 329 bus route from St Helens. Hope to see you there!

My name is Asiya and I am a PhD student at the University of Nottingham.

I'm doing research on the double-empathy problem, looking at how autistic people are perceived by non-autistic people.
My study consists of 3 tasks, a writing task where participants write about 6 life experiences, a questionnaire and an abbreviated IQ task.

The study will take place in the University of Nottingham, School of Psychology, Cognition Lab, B5 (If location is not suitable then we can meet at a place most suitable to the participant).

Approx time: 50mins & £10 amazon voucher for your time.

We're pleased to announce that we will be hosting another quiz night fundraiser! After such a successful, fun event last year, we decided to do it again

Tickets cost just £5, this includes the quiz, buffet, entertainment and entry into the raffle.

All proceeds will go towards our Society; we will be able to carry on providing a much needed service for adults with Autism!

We worked with the Heart of Glass, to create a banner for St Helens' Citizen's Day Parade in June.

They have recently approached us again, to work on the animation project, "we are still here". We are very excited to welcome them into our hub this Wednesday and Friday (14th and 16th) to do our part towards this project!

InSpire To AsPire AuTism Support UK is an Autism support group at Newton-Le-Willows Community Centre, for people aged between 11 and 19.

On the 30th June, we are being featured (and taking part) as one of the local community groups, in the Citizen's Parade, celebrating St. Helens' 150th anniversary! 

This Friday (8th June), our group will be holding an arts and crafts day. This is open to our members and their carers/ parents, where we will be making all different types of things to sell at the parade, in order to raise funds for the Society. 

We will be meeting at the hub at 10am, and will be walking over to 14 Church Street for 10:30am. If you would like to just meet us at 14 Church Street, you are more than welcome to!

Refreshments will be provided.

Also, thank you to everyone who joined us, including the Mayor and Mayoress of St Helens, at the hub to celebrate the hard work that has been put into redecorating the building for the Autism & Asperger Society.

The work is coming along really well, we can't wait for the finished result St Helens College Prince's Trust!!

We previously thought that we would be reopening the hub on Monday 30th October 2017, however, the reopening date will now be on Friday 3rd November 2017.

Just to let everyone know, the hub will be closed for the next 2 weeks (closed from Monday 16th October 2017), and will reopen on Monday 30th October 2017.

This is due to the kind work of students from St Helens College in the Prince's Trust Team Programme, who have offered to redecorate the building for us.

We will be open at our brand new premises, 34 Hall Street, from Wednesday 5th (10am-2pm) onwards, with slightly limited facilities to start as all the rooms aren't ready to use yet. Hope to see you there!
